For 35 years, Fanfare Piston has livened the Lyons area.

The brass band recruits from the students of the Ecole Centrale de Lyon. It is made up of thirty or so persons playing various instruments from sousasophone to clarinet by trombone and trumpet, without forgetting drums. Its repertoire is made up of traditionnal french tunes, spanish tunes, old french songs and jazz and pop music arrangements...

Throughout the year, the Fanfare Piston performs in the region of Lyons.

Traditionnaly, week-ends are given over to “burstages” at Republic square on saturday afternoon, and at Croix-Rousse market every sunday morning.

The week-ends can also be used to contracts as weddings, inaugurations, village feasts...

From december to april, the Fanfare Piston is used to perform in ski resorts too.

It livens the streets, takes part in festive activities, play down the runs to welcome the skiers at the end of the afternoon or play in the altitude restaurants at lunch times.

Sometime, we also go in Alpes later in season for great events as the International Meeting of High Mountains Guides...

Inaugurations, festivals, records... The Fanfare Piston takes part in many events allover Europe...

We have also taken part in the “Smash 2001” festival at Kristiansand in Norway, in the Dalhem festival...

Otherwise, the Fanfare Piston was the highest playing brass band of the world in 1984, and it's today the fastest brass band on ground since we took part in TGV trials...

We also often take part in events of the Lyons area, as feast for new wine incomming...
